French Empire Patinated Bronze and Marble Mantle Clock, Signed L. Leroy & Cie

Paris, first half 19th century, the silvered engine turned dial with steel Breguet hands, and brass 8-day works, both signed "L. Leroy & Cie /13-15 Palais Royal / Paris", the works additionally numbered "14560", within sarcophagus form marble case with bronze figure of Psyche surmounting.

25 x 14 3/4 x 8 in.

Lacking pendulum, winding key, and securing nut for bell chime; some areas of chipping and cracks to marble; later wooden rear panel; some surface wear and rubbing to bronze and patina; dial glass with some residue from remounting; Psyche likely missing another element in hands.
