O'Neal's decoys typically featured large bodies with high-angled heads. His trademark design element was the distinctive upturned bills. Joseph Knapp helped create Ducks Unlimited in 1937. He had a rig of Wallace O'Neal, Jr. decoys which he cut the bottom down to provide a wider surface so the decoys could ride the Currituck chop better.
