Pike Powers studied at the Rhode Island School of Design, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1981. She went on to complete a Master of Fine Arts at Yale University School of Art in 1987. Powers received numerous awards and fellowships, including the Prix de Rome in 1988, and an award in painting from the New York Foundation for the Arts in 1992. From 1993 until 2007, she was artistic director at the Pilchuck Glass School. She has taught at various art schools, held numerous seminars, and exhibited in both solo and group shows in the United States and Europe.
