These two works are from a series called Tragic Beauties, in which Barbara Abel photographed European wax mannequins from the turn of the 20th century that were stored in a Detroit warehouse. Abel was fascinated by the incorporation of elements such as human hair, glass eyes, and teeth made of denture material in an effort to create such lifelike figures.

Very good condition; not examined out of frames.
