This photograph was a gift from the artist to the consignor upon the birth of the consignor's first child.
Emmet Gowin was born in Danville, Virginia in 1941 and is now is a Professor Emeritus of Photography at Princeton University. He is known for his broad range of subjects, including images of his wife, Edith - pictured here with their son, Isaac - as well as landscapes, and studies of moths. Gowin's works are held in major permanent collections such as the Museum of Modern Art, New York; J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles; Art Institute of Chicago; and others.
Overall very good condition; few scattered creases mostly in margins, several possible faint associated abrasions.
