France, hand-painted earthenware, round footed form with triadic palette, artist signed and dated "Marquant 1878" to inner border, Greek Muses Terpsichore and Erato, the flange inscribed with classical composers "MOZART / BEETHOVEN / HAYDN / GLUCK", griffin and scroll in Naples yellow with deep crimson borders, the reverse with impressed company mark and inscribed to verso.
