Attributed Boston, circa 1830, mahogany with mahogany veneers, two drawer with fitted interiors, the table features drop leaves and single wing support, raised on four carved spiral twist tapered legs on brass casters, featuring a printed cotton fabric basket, a brass plaque outlining the table's provenance is affixed to the interior of the top drawer.

25 1/2 x 37 1/2 x 18 1/2 in. (with leaves extended); 25 1/2 x 21 1/2 x 18 1/2 in. (with leaves closed)

Purportedly from the collection of Martha Hubbard Babcock (1781-1863), Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.

A portrait of Mrs. Babcock, painted by Gilbert Stuart, is in the collection of The Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, Massachusetts.

Some surface nicks and scratches; some staining and mildew to fabric; two loose pulls.
