Late 18th century, 38.25 in. round barrel marked with Crown over CP, unknown proof and Crown over V near the breach end, lock plate marked crown over GR and TOWER, walnut full stock with brass trigger guard, buttplate, nose cap and sleeves, iron ramrod, leather sling.

A standard-issue firearm for British forces from the early 18th century to the mid-19th century. Produced at the Tower of London Armories and other locations, it featured a flintlock ignition system and was typically a .75 caliber smoothbore. Renowned for its durability and ease of use, the musket saw service in numerous conflicts, including the American Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars. The "Brown Bess" became a symbol of British military power during its era and remains an iconic piece of firearms history.

Overall fair to good estate condition, working lock work, barrel and lock have oxidation, surface scratches and finish wear, stock has heavy handling marks, bore has oxidation and pitting, proof marks present on barrel near action, brass trigger guard, buttplate, and fittings, steel ram rod, leather sling, forward and rear sling attachment points.
