Introduced by Remington Arms in 1946 and produced until 1971. Designed by John Browning’s collaborator Crawford C. Loomis, it features a tubular magazine and the ability to cycle .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle cartridges interchangeably, thanks to its unique floating chamber system. Durable and reliable, the Model 550-1 became a popular choice for small game hunting and target shooting.
Overall fair estate condition, barrel and receiver uniformly coated with light surface rust, finish wear and surface scratches, stock has field marks and scuffing from age and use, front and rear drill holes for shoulder strap on bottom of stock, buttplate has small amount of material missing, bore is shiny with strong rifling.
