This revivalist form is modeled after the 13th-14th century Mamluk incense burners. Period examples were pierced, often hung from a chain, with interior gimbals designed to hold incense steady. For reference to a period example, please see the British Museum's collection, inventory number 1878.12-30.682.

A few small dents, some surface rubbing to metal; overall good condition.
