Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, before 1900, carved and painted wood, iron rod ballast.
Length 14 in.
Many of the Bob Perry market gunning stand were carved prior to 1900. They were heavily used and few survived. They were extremely well made and often mistaken for the work for James Best. This is an extremely well carved decoy and one of the better examples known.
Old gunning paint, working repair to the neck, age checks in the body and head, hit by shot.
