Solomon Beasley was a master carpenter in Currituck County. He built quality furniture, decoys, and boats. His decoys are extremely rare and most were made before the turn of the century. His decoys have a very distinctive pinched bill. This example bears the Robert Sawyer brand.
Old gunning paint, working repair to the neck, added nail on the left side to stabilize the head.
