Frank Kleinholz was known for his vivid expressionistic works that reflected his emotional engagement with the world around him with a distinctive, highly personal style. He studied at the National Academy of Design and the Art Students League of New York. Early in his career, he was influenced by the works of the European Expressionists, and the American Scene painters. His works are characterized by bold, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant color, combined with a profound psychological intensity.
