Daniel Johnston (Seagrove, NC), Decorated Jardiniere and Jug

Both glazed stoneware and decorated with swirl designs and bands; the jardiniere a round bowl form with one drain hole at the bottom and impressed "D" initial to underside; the jug with one side handle and marked "D" to underside.

9 1/2 x 14 1/2 in.; 11 1/2 in. tall

Jardiniere with some scratches to exterior, one small glaze pop produced in the firing on the shoulder, and grime to interior from use; the jug with areas of minor glaze crazing, rim slightly rough with a few glaze flakes, and protective pads attached to underside.
