An Indian Brass Sculpture of Shiva Nataraja

20th century, the Hindu god Shiva is depicted performing his dance of destruction which leads to rebirth of the world, he is surrounded by a circular halo of flames, he stands atop a demon representing conquering ignorance, the entire sculpture is raised on a tiered rectangular base surmounted by lotus petals.
