Late 20th/early 21st century, ceramic, wheel-thrown, to include: one small black bowl (5 1/4 in. dia.); one medium b&w bowl with geometric pattern (8 5/8 in. dia.); one b&w serving bowl with geometric pattern (11 1/4 in. dia.); one black serving dish (11 5/8 in. dia.); and one b&w serving platter with geometric designs (12 5/8 in.); all signed to underside.

Proceeds of this lot to be donated to the Marsha Owen Workshop Scholarship Fund at Penland School of Crafts.

Marsha Owen was a North Carolina-based potter who was associated with the Penland School of Crafts where she studied from 1979-1991 and worked as an assistant, resident potter, and teacher in the 1980s and 1990s. She participated in numerous exhibitions throughout North Carolina and beyond.

The small bowl with a couple of light scratches; the medium bowl with a few imperfections that date to the making; light rubbing in well, and a couple of tiny glaze flakes on rim; the black serving dish with some scratches, rubbing, and light grime, and the underside with marks and several hairlines; the serving platter with light grime, a few light scratches, scattered spotting to glaze likely dating to the making, and marks to underside; overall good estate condition.
