Wood fired red earthenware vessel, wheel turned bulbous form decorated with bold splash glaze, signed by the artist to underside.
Approx. 12 1/2 in. tall
Fred Johnston studied pottery in Seagrove, Alfred University, and Penn State University. His work can be found in several museum permanent collections, including the Mint Museum in Charlotte. He established Johnston & Gentithes Art Pottery in Seagrove with his wife in 1997.
With (3) kiln marks on outer wall; felt protective pads applied to underside; good estate condition.
