Wood fired stoneware vessel, with freely applied glaze drips from the shoulder, signed by the artist to underside.
Approx. 13 in. tall
Fred Johnston studied pottery in Seagrove, Alfred University, and Penn State University. His work can be found in several museum permanent collections, including the Mint Museum in Charlotte. He established Johnston & Gentithes Art Pottery in Seagrove with his wife in 1997.
Some imperfections from firing inherent to the work; applied plastic protective pads applied to the underside; good estate condition.
