Watercolor on ivory, unsigned, the first of a handsome blue eyed young gent with curly brown hair, circa 1810; the larger portrait of a brown eyed gent with powdered hair, circa 1800. Both rendered against a neutral ground, attired in a dark coat, white waist coat, with high collar and cravat, presented behind glass in 19th century red leather wrapped traveling cases with gilt matting.

Case sizes 4 1/4 x 3 1/2 x 1 in. and 4 3/4 x 3 3/4 x 1 in.

From a Private Collection, Washington, D.C.

Cased with surface scuffs, marks, and general wear; the larger portrait with vertical crack down the center; the smaller portrait with some slight bowing, and some surface spotting to the background.
