Contemporary, mahogany, mahogany veneer, two part form, upper cabinet with central carved and gilt wood shell finial and four bronze urn finials, two hinged shaped beveled glass doors, well developed interior with (55) small drawers and pigeon holes, two embossed leather candle slides, the base with two hinged slant doors, with embossed leather writing surface and stops to slopes, well developed interior with pull out leather writing slide featuring painted coat of arms, four drawers, pigeon holes, two hinged prospect doors further fitted with eight small drawers, the case with nine conforming drawers flanking two hinged cabinet doors with interior fitted cabinet which slides out to reveal hidden drawers and storage compartments, flanked by a hidden compartment to the right in the form of a half column which reveals small storage drawers, straight bracket foot base, labeled.

Theodore Alexander and Charles, 9th Earl Spencer collaborated together for 14 years to create The Althorp Living History Collection. The collection contains reproductions from the Althorp Estate, the Spencer family’s ancestral home of 19 generations of British nobility. In the Fall of 2018, Lord Spencer unveiled many of these pieces for a charity event in Highpoint, NC:

Overall very good estate condition; the upper central plinth with small dent; lower corners of the hinged slant doors with corner denting; bottom left cabinet door with small area of veneer buckling.
