Contemporary, mahogany, mahogany veneer, two part form, upper case with bonnet top and carved central finial and turned finials, hinged tombstone glazed door with well developed interior featuring pigeon holes, (23) fitted drawers, mirrored prospect door with four interior fitted drawers, the base with a hinged slant front lid having loper supports, interior with embossed leather writing surface ten fitted drawers and pigeon holes, the case with four graduated cock beaded drawers, ogee bracket foot base, labeled.

Theodore Alexander and Charles, 9th Earl Spencer collaborated together for 14 years to create The Althorp Living History Collection. The collection contains reproductions from the Althorp Estate, the Spencer family’s ancestral home of 19 generations of British nobility. In the Fall of 2018, Lord Spencer unveiled many of these pieces for a charity event in Highpoint, NC:

Overall very good estate condition; the lower case with scuffs to front corners; slant lid with slight rubbing above loper areas.
