Active in Greensboro (circa 1824) and Charlotte (1827-1865), including one teaspoon marked "T.T" within a rectangular reserve with sawtooth ends, with period script monogram to handle (6 in.); the second with mark of Trotter & Huntington, stamped "T & H" within a rectangular reserve, without monogram (5 3/4 in.)

Thomas Trotter was involved in a number of partnerships including Thomas Trotter & Co. (1827-1828); Trotter & Huntington with John Huntington (1828-1831); Trotter & Alexander with his apprentice Samuel P. Alexander (1837-1838); Thomas Trotter & Son (1853-1857); and joined J.G. Wilkinson & Co. in 1858.
