Early 20th century, painted cast iron fox masks flanking the scrape, manufactured by B.B. Butt, Baltimore, Maryland, branded SBB for Mrs. Savannah Berrett Butt.

From the Estate of the late Dr. Larry Bridge, Albemarle, North Carolina

Savannah Barrett Butt of Baltimore founded the B.B. Butt Company in the 1930s after her husband's death and the hardships of the Great Depression. In 1938, she patented a boot scraper design, launching her iron casting venture. The company became renowned for intricate boot scrapers with animal motifs, such as twin horse figures and double fox heads, marked by the "BB" insignia. Mrs. Butt's creations remain a testament to her resilience and craftsmanship.

Overall good estate condition, paint loss over much of area, oxidation to iron elements.
