Introduced by Savage Arms in 1940 as a robust and affordable double-barrel shotgun. It was a continuation of the esteemed A.H. Fox gun line after Savage acquired the company in the 1920s. Unlike the original high-grade A.H. Fox shotguns, the Model B was designed for mass production and featured a simpler design with fewer custom options. Produced primarily in 12, 16, 20, and .410 gauge configurations, it gained popularity among hunters and sportsmen for its durability and reliability.
Overall very good estate condition, barrel finish in good condition, some minor blemishes on barrel surface and moderate scratched area on top rib near breach, barrels ring with muted tone, cyanide color casing remains colorfully robust, stock finish shows scattered small wear areas along comb and near action junction, checkering is clean and pronounced.
