20th century, carved and polished dark green marble after the Roman version in white marble that was fashioned during the 1st or 2nd century BCE and now resides at the Capitoline Museums in Rome. The Roman iteration of the Dying Gaul was based on an earlier Greek bronze commemorating the victories of King Attalos I of Pergamon.

Approximately 18 1/2 x 35 x 13 1/2 in.; The pedestal 44 1/2 x 36 x 16 in.

The sculpture with some scattered chipping, and cracks to the figures weight bearing arm, and along the terrace edge; the terrace with scattered cracks, chips, and losses, surface stains.
