James Abbott McNeill Whistler created this etched portrait of the French art dealer and sculptor, Charles L. Drouet, in 1859. This portrait was supposedly completed in just two sittings. While the linework for Drouet's body is spontaneous and gestural, Whistler captures detailed facial likeness and expression of his friend and colleague.
Overall good condition; some very light mat burn and few minor foxing marks; not examined out of frame.
