From the Collection of Mr. Jonathan P. Alcott, Raleigh, North Carolina Talwinski was born in Poland and during World War II was taken prisoner by the Germans. After he was freed in 1945, he moved to Paris where he spent the remainder of his life painting mostly portraits of young women in muted and pastel colors. He had solo exhibitions in Paris, London and New York.
