Circa 1815, watercolor on ivory, the handsome blue-eyed sitter with brown hair, attired in blue overcoat with white cravat and ruffled chemise, well-rendered against a sky ground, presented behind glass within a period ebonized frame with gilt oval bezel and cast acorn hanger, interior retains a trade card for a British manufacturer of nautical, optical, and survey equipment on 92 & 93 Fleet (St.?).

Miniature 3 x 2 1/4 in; frame 5 3/4 x 4 1/2 in.
